The Monroe Balloon and Blues Festival is a great way to watch Balloons floating across the gorgeous green landscape of Green County Wisconsin.
Watch Air Air Balloon Launches taking place and enjoy the activities of the midway, including outstanding food, beer, and shop many other vendors all while listening to some of the best Blues bands around.
The Fairgrounds Balloon Glows is an event that features hot-air-balloons being inflated after dark (Watch Video of Glow). This special activity offers viewers a spectacle of fire and color unlike anything else you’re likely to see on a warm summer evening in Southern Wisconsin (or anywhere else for that matter). Hot air balloons stand like over-grown Chinese lanterns against the night sky, providing a breathtaking new perspective on the world of ballooning.

*Please note that flights may be postponed due to weather concerns such as wind speeds, rain, lightning, etc.. If air speed is too high between ground level and the heights that the balloons will travel, the launch time may be delayed to ensure the safety of our balloonists, as well as for the public.
Part of the Balloon Rally is the Hot Air and Hot Wheels Car Show hosted on the fairgrounds midway Saturday. Kerry Stamm volunteered again this year to organize the car show and has put together a great team to assist with registering and judging the 21 different categories. If you would like to participate as an exhibitor, please contact Kerry via our contact page or contact him through their Facebook Page. (Registration Form)
The Monroe Balloon Rally is a community-based event that depends on the generous support and participation of numerous businesses, and community groups. Along with the famous Cream Puffs provided by the National Historic Cheesemaking Center, you’ll need to save room for the cheese curds, giant cookies, cotton candy, kettle corn and deep fried everything. Here’s a sampling of the culinary distractions from previous years.
Boy Scout Troop 115: Food Booth and Schwan’s Ice Cream
National Historic Cheesemaking Center: Cream Puffs
Freeport Golden K Kiwanis: Kettle Corn
Monroe Lion’s Club: Food Trailer
Koning’s Ribeye Grill: Rib Eye Sandwiches
Family Promise of Green County: Concessions
Jason’s Flavored Ice
Almond Tree: German Roasted Nuts
Butterfly & Ribbon Fries
Beer Wagon: Next to Blues Bands
Tasty midway concessions will be available from Noon to 9:00 p.m. Also, there will be a pancake breakfast on Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
