Yes, please see Green County Wisconsin Lodging Page at: http://greencounty.org/lodging.html. Don’t like getting up for the early morning balloon flights? Try camping at the Green County Fairgrounds. They have approximately 100 campsites, some with water hook-ups and most with electricity. Camping fees are: Campers pay $20.00/night/unit, Tents pay $12.00/night. Please call the fair office if you have any questions concerning camping. (608) 325-9159.
This is best answered by our purpose. (1) to create a spirit of good will and friendliness; (2) to promote, produce, and stage a balloon festival as shall appeal to the community which shall attract guests and visitors thereto.
The answer is no. Sorry but this is fairgrounds policy.
The Crafts and Exhibitor Fair will be on the Balloon Festival grounds located at the Green County Fairground. – SEE MAP
Please see the Crafts and Exhibitor Fair Vendor Information section of the Get Involved page.
On Friday and Saturday, cars will be allowed in the craft area for unloading only. There is designated parking for vehicles at the fairgrounds. Those with trailers will be directed to a special parking area.
You are welcome to join us for any part of the event. We allow you to set up or take down anytime during the weekend. Exhibitor display windows include Friday 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. and Saturday 6:00 A.M.-9:00 P.M. Again you are free to exhibit all or part of the time and we invite you to view the full schedule of events to help determine when to show.
For those wanting a more tangible experience in a hot-air balloon on a future date, paid passenger flights are available through the Ride Operators of the Wisconsin Balloon Group. Please note that these outstanding, licensed firms will not be available during or at this year’s Monroe Balloon & Blues Festival, but they will be able to schedule you a ride of a lifetime in the very near future!
Well, it’s just one of the most impressive spectacles you may ever witness. Each evening of the rally (weather permitting) balloon pilots fire up their balloons (tethered in the center of the fairgrounds) and the audience is allowed to walk in and around them as they glow brightly against the dusky sky (Watch Video of Glow). It’s difficult to do justice to the scene in photo or video, but you can click here to watch more videos of the past events (though they cannot do it justice — you’ll just have to come and see it for yourself). Boy Scout Troop 101 will be lighting up the Hot Air Balloon Glows on Friday and Saturday and they will be distributing glow necklaces at the Monroe Rally. For more information on the Balloon Glow please see the Balloon Glow Schedule or view our entire Balloon Festival Schedule.
Approximately the same number of balloons we have been hosting each year since 2007, that number is 15.
