Can I get a Balloon Ride?

For those wanting a more tangible experience in a hot-air balloon on a future date, paid passenger flights are available through the Ride Operators of the Wisconsin Balloon Group. Please note that these outstanding, licensed firms will not be available during or at this year’s Monroe Balloon & Blues Festival, but they will be able to schedule you a ride of a lifetime in the very near future!

What is a Balloon Glow?

Well, it’s just one of the most impressive spectacles you may ever witness. Each evening of the rally (weather permitting) balloon pilots fire up their balloons (tethered in the center of the fairgrounds) and the audience is allowed to walk in and around them as they glow brightly against the dusky sky (Watch Video of Glow). It’s difficult to do justice to the scene in photo or video, but you can click here to watch more videos of the past events (though they cannot do it justice — you’ll just have to come and see it for yourself). Boy Scout Troop 101 will be lighting up the Hot Air Balloon Glows on Friday and Saturday and they will be distributing glow necklaces at the Monroe Rally. For more information on the Balloon Glow please see the Balloon Glow Schedule or view our entire Balloon Festival Schedule.

How many balloons do you expect to be at the rally?

Approximately the same number of balloons we have been hosting each year since 2007, that number is 15.
